Mel and Karen Hooten have together and separately taught God’s word through the years to all ages and in many settings. Their passion is to share what is the very heart of God portrayed through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Pastor Mel was born in Tulia, Texas and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion and a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has over 40 years’ experience in ministry which includes traditional pastorates, hospital chaplaincy, and church planting and mission work.
Karen Hooten was born in Lubbock, Texas and has had a career as a registered nurse. She has served often full-time alongside her husband as an administrative assistant, Bible teacher, and singer/pianist. She credits her understanding and insight when preparing Bible lessons to the Holy Spirit as her Teacher and Guide through many life experiences.
Mel & Karen Hooten know the cowboy culture and lifestyle from growing up in the Texas Panhandle. They served together to plant the Cowboy Church of Tarrant County near Fort Worth in 2010. They now live in Aubrey, Texas.
